ecutek mapping
ive got a turbo 2000 w reg and im considering having the engine mapped by wrc technologies using ecutek software but am worried that its going to blow up after a period of time. is this true cos i havent got the money for an engine rebuild if it happens. does anybody have any good tuning advice or has had this done with good results.

if you can't stand the heat....stay out of the kitchen ?
If propperly mapped it's saver as original. But more BHP wil increase more engine stress. |
fair point i can see what u mean. Thanks

From a mapping point of view, no 'mapper' is gonna let you leave with a car that would blow up. It is not in anyones interest at all to even do such a thing. Again you have to stay with a known good mapper, but no way would they do that.
As David says above, more BHP means you are pushing things more but again, if well looked after by you, nothing will happen. My car was done by Richard at TSL, and i have been on 2 rolling roads since, and both different opinions still said the same about the mapping, it is a good 'safe' map that actually runs slightly rich at higher revs, which in turn means a little less power, BUT, being slightly rich is the safe way to be. High revs and lean mix = Det, and that ****s you up big time. So back to your post, you can indeed have your car mapped safe. Pick your choice from the recommendations on here, and go for it :D You wont be disappointed! |
thanks. once again u have a good point. no company wants a bad reputation for blowing cars up.
