Accelerater pedal wiring?

Just found that theres 2 wires which go into the top of the accelerator pedal in the footwell and at the connector block they have been disconnected???

Anyone got any idea what its are for - its a jap import wrx.It almost looks like its an electrical switch which may switch to earth when there is no throttle applied.
Any suggestions?

I think it must be summit to do with an ecu signal but what im unsure about.

Dont think its anything to do with water spray or anything because it hasnt got it fitted on mine?
