Exhaust wrap
 

Next time I gt my car on the ramps Im gna remove the heat sheilds and wrap the maniflod ect, so jus had a couple questions. Are all wraps the same or is there a 'best' one? Wheres the cheapest place to by it and does nebody whos done it no how much I will need?

1 roll of 2"*50' did my headers, I got mine from agriemach as they offer scoobynetters a 20% discount.
you also need snap straps and hi-temp paint.

What is the advantage of wrapping your headers?

Or any other part of your exhaust system.

Another vote for www.agriemach.co.ukAs mentioned they are offering a 20%discount to scoobynetters.

The benefits are lower under bonnet temperatures.

Wrapping the exhaust with wrap that has a high fibre glass content keeps the heat in the exhaust where it should be and reduces escaping heat which increases the under bonnet temps, which you dont want.

It is almost vital to wrap aftermarket headers as they dont have the heatshields them oem ones do and as such under bonnet temps rise significantly.

Having higher exhaust temps I believe is also better for performance, the gasses move faster and spin turbo quicker, although I may of imagined that fact???
