Down on Boost
I have just fitted a SECS data monitor to my UK Turbo 2000. I had the car out for a few good runs last night to learn what her 'peak' values are.
I can't get peak boost to exceed 0.9 bar. On a UK Turbo 2000 shouldn't peak boost be in the region of 1.5 bar? There are no symptoms to indicate that I am bleeding boost and the car is driving well on the road. Mods are full magnex 3" decat, K&N induction. All else remains standard. Any suggestions? TT |
i think your car is as it should be, standard boost is 0.9 bar unless it has been remapped or you use a boost controller, it might spike abit over when watching the SECS but it will down to 0.9 due to the standard mapping

Same as above. A standard motor is meant to run 0.9bar of boost......Cheapest way to up it is with a manual boost controller. Only about £40. But you will probably need other mods to cope with it. Depends how much you up the boost. I run 1.1 on mine and this didnt need a remap.

Agreed :) Tek 3 says mine peaks at 1.5 ant holds 1.3 :) |
boy do I feel like a proper f***wit!!!!
For some reason I had 1.5 in my head, perhaps someone mentioned 15psi and I got the point in the wrong place. Was getting ready to rip things apart this weekend to try to locate the cause too, so thanks for saving me the effort. Just proves a point - all that hi tech metering is damn all use unless you know what the values should read!!!! Thanks guys, TT |
