Not much I can say, but from what I have been told by others (and read on various BBS's), i'd better not comment for fear of S'net being sued (although it probably can't be libel if based on truth!)

thank's I get your drift. :thumb:

The MLR Register was slating this company big time not too long ago,

LUCKO 07 September 2005 02:55 PM

a lad who works in unit next to ours bought a car from there, i advised him he should have gone to specsavers.....

Big-G 07 September 2005 03:03 PM

I phoned them up one morning to arrange a viewing on a car.

Got there to be told that the car had been sold 'yesterday'.

a 140mile round trip for nothing.

After looking around their stock, I decided against buying from them.

I will not say too much, but as I walked out I passed their horses.
(similar to ones seen in cowboy films).

This is my opinion based on observations, it is up to you to go and see for yourself and make your own mind up.

This might go against the grain a bit here but, we bought a 97 ra off these guys in may an we've never had a minutes trouble with it, best thing we could advise you to do is to go look for yourself an make your own mind up: EACH TO THEIR OWN I SAY .http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/images/icons/icon14.gif

I don't think that anyone would dispute that they may sell a few nice motors mate, but I think the trouble is they sell more than their fair share of turds, and the aftersales STINKS!

Glad your'e happy with your RA!

scoobynut555 07 September 2005 04:01 PM

Thanks for all the info guys, and as its about a 600 mile round trip for me I don't think I will bother.

Cheers

i actually went up to skipton not long bk to look for myself and was quite surprised how many of the cars had noticable front end damage and were in the middle of being repaired.lets just say if its an import id ask to see the auction sheet with the milage and grading on.(but this is just my opinion)

Jamescsti 07 September 2005 04:27 PM

I bought an STi V1 there, within 1 week the head gasket went.
Within a month the pistons lost compression on 2 cylnders.
They were crap with their warranty as well refused to pay out for the engine rebuild which cost me just under 1k
Avoid like the plague in my experience

Swen6 07 September 2005 05:21 PM

Do a search there was a thread a little while ago, they weren't popular.

Kel - Home 07 September 2005 05:39 PM

I've never actually bought anything from them but when i visited they weren't exactly welcoming (i was ignored completely - even when i went into the showroom).

The cars were cheap enough but looked very tatty (in my opnion).

Like others have said, have a search around the forums and you'll get a good idea.

Jamo 07 September 2005 05:40 PM

avoid at all cost! pm me if you want more info!!!

I havent seen that on the website today, but was physically there a few weeks ago and saw an orange coloured S202, it looked OK from what I saw and know of that model. Oh, and I'm not an expert or work for them!

Additionally, I come from the next town and regularly go for "a look" at the stock.

It is true that many cars appear in a poor condition and up at a high price, but some are not.

There are some real nice examples and if you seriously know what you are looking for and can haggle then they are no different from any secondhand dealer.

I do know all about why they were initially set up and the past threads on here about their stock and customer service.

The best advise is before you part with any cash, be it a deposit or a full payment get any car from any dealer checked out.

Er... is this the one you've never had a minute's trouble with that you've just had to do a full engine rebuild on? Or do you own two scoobs? :)

How many threads have you seen on here lately saying that their big end has gone int that the joys of scooby ownership old or new.Yes we bought our car off kct and unless you expect them to strip the engines down to the last nut an bolt, which we all know it would be a costly venture. But like scoobyclinic said when they recieved the car and stripped it with that amount of damage to crank someone at some stage of the cars life hasn't been so keen on checking engine oil levels,.As we all know buying secondhand scoobys we cannot be reponsable for previous owners,an we are not putting any blame on kct shoulders.

Jamo 07 September 2005 10:40 PM

owned :D

But you bought a car from them and the big end has gone within two or three months! And you said you hadn't had a moment's trouble with it! That is misleading if not an outrageous lie!

I'm sure this link will give plenty of insight to the hearsay of the mentioned place for anyone interested:

yes but can anyone tell me wether or not their car is going to blow up today, or 2morrow i guess not.The only thing we can do as second hand owners is when they decide to let go is take them to a place like we av for a full engine rebuild an then look after them to our standards.

Paul. Have you had a moment's trouble with it, to the tune of a full engine rebuild, or not? :)
