NIP time limit
I know from a static camera they need to send within 14 days - but what about a policeman standing there with a laser gun?? same rules apply?
Its now been 3 weeks plus since I spied a nice man with a camera!! Great use of our boys in blue - parked up in central reservation of straight portion of dual carriageway - no safety issues in that area and a silly tax raising 50 mph limit. |
Your off the hook !
Rob :) |
same rules AFAIK

It's 14 day's unless it's following involvement in an accident in which case it's upto 6 months or you were actually stopped by the police.
The reason for this is that if you were stopped by the Police or involved in an accident you will likely remember the incident. If you were just driving down the road and did not notice the officer for instance it is likely you will not be able to recall the details of the incident much after 14 days, if that. Those are the time limits recognised by the court system In either case the case has to go through court within 6 months of the incident or the case goes statute barred |

Papers have to be served before the court within 6 months, the summons may be issued after the 6 month time limit. |
Within 14 days usually, however if the cops have trouble tracking you down ie. uve moved address and DVLA haven't been updated then it can be extended.
You should be ok though. |
It is a general rule that you must be warned of possible prosecution within 14 days of the offence.
