Garage protection / surveillace?

Bonjour.

I have just had a very expensive set of wheels pinched from my garage :( and wondering what products are around to combat this?

A lock is only a visual deterrant in this case as its not a big solid garage beast.

Is there any alarm system that will also take some snaps of the thieving helmets?

Might be a bit overkill for you, but here's a page on my site about building our home CCTV Server...

Records months worth of footage (only records when movement detected). I can view the cameras live from anywhere via the web too.

if your house is alarmed you can have it fitted to your garage as well ,all it needs is a sencer

I found a simple battery operated remote IR alarm for about £15, simply attach to wall or roof bearer and arm / dissarm as per central locking etc..
Also fitted a IR 150 watt floodlight inside the garage in place of normal bulb so that as soon as door opened it comes on with the alarm. Again cheap and simple to fit and you don't leave the light on for days and you can see as soon as door opens without clambering over everything to find the light switch.

A simple all in one PIR and alarm as above should do the trick. If it's difficult to hear the alarm in your house, put a baby monitor in as well !
