SQL Training

We are implementing a new SQL database, but I need to get one of the guys up to speed on how to create reports from this.

Can anyone recommend a course (be it Microsoft or otherwise) or a good training centre in Surrey that would be able to help?

Is it worth looking at Crystal Reports to carry out the reporting or will the SQL elements be fine?

Cheers

Yes you should look to go down the Crystal route first for reporting as SQL on its own will not do the reporting layout just give you the data you need. Crystal uses SQL for more complex reports to return result sets anyway so it would be a good place to start and learn. Next get some 'SQL for dummies' books very good intro to SQL.

Cheers Gary. Is there a particular version of Crystal to look at?

I see there are a couple of versions.

Can heartly recommend 'SAMS Teach yourself SQL in 10 minutes'.
Came in handy when I had to do a crash course in SQL report writing for Informix.
