Great Service from Powerstation

I attended the extraveganza at Powerstation today, it was a last minute decision but am I glad I went.

Won't go into too much detail but I was expecting my car to produce 330bhp very confidently. So was LeighF, both cars are STi7s with identical mods.

Things didn't go quite as expected for either of us. On a positive note the guys at Powerstation remapped my car free of charge. As you can imagine I went away extremely pleased, recorded 324bhp, boost a lot lower than before and extremely smooth to drive with no flat spots.

A big thank you to the guys at powerstation. The guys controlling the rolling road worked their socks off all day and Richie did a great job remapping the car. A big thumbs up.

Oops, nearly forgot - thanks to the guys who had to wait longer than anticipated due to my remap, particularly the silver impreza who I had to push in front of.

A goood result for Robocop with his PPP'd STi and what a result for the Holden, 440BHP.

Hi Mike

Glad everything worked out for you in the end and that after the initial gloom, you drove home with a smile on your face. :) I take it Leigh left his there to be sorted?

Yes, I was very pleased with the 305bhp that my standard STi PPP produced.
I've been to a couple of rolling road days before, but Powerstation was the only place that utilized a cooling trunking on top of the intercooler (something like in the film E.T). I'm sure most people are aware that the top mounted intercoolers on Imprezas really do suffer from heat build up on rolling roads, so it is a testament to PowerStation’s professionalism that they go the extra mile and use this.

A very impressive setup and with luck, the next venue for South West Scoobies next rolling road day.

Top marks for Powerstation. :)

Anyone know who got the highest output from an Impreza yesterday? (bhp and torque)
Great day.

Graham.

Robocop 28 August 2005 08:17 AM

I saw someone achieve 369bhp in a classic.

lol.

Robocop meet Graham. Graham meet Robocop. Graham owns a 369BHP classic. :D

Mike, what mods have you done and what power did LeighF get? Who did you original map? What power did you get that you were dissapointed with?

Can't go into too much detail here. Both cars have 3" full decat with uprated fuel pump and Tek 3 remap. Both cars got 315/316 on the rollers.

Mike

Floyd 28 August 2005 10:13 AM

If that's all the mods you have then you did well to get 324BHP! I would say 315 should have been expected. Your torque plot makes the car look laggy, is it?

F

morpheous 28 August 2005 10:32 AM

I saw the first car run and ("DET" which was easily audible at 3m away) around 4500rpm and slightly at the top end on the second run but the power curve was poor...
Didnt see the outcome of the remap but looks like they smiled again...:)

Just like to say thanks to PowerStation especially Curt and Andy who worked really hard in the dynocell to get through the runs :thumb:

Great day and thanks to the powerstation guys, my dirty P1 made 287bhp ( standard ) and my mates civic turbo made 337 ( tuned by me ! )

VERY impressed with the Powerstation premises and the proffesionalism these guys have, This is the place i would take my car, knocks the socks off most other places.

Robocop 28 August 2005 10:54 AM

Morpheous
What spec are you running to get those figures?

The plot at the top is Robocop's, I'll post my before and after plot later on this evening.

morpheous 28 August 2005 04:13 PM

Did you get them :thumb:

It seems there were quite a few SN members there at the same time as me (ie most of the morning), very good day.

The suprise for me was the stripped out battered Astra producing 245bhp IIRC) how noisy..!?

I was in my 05 blue WRX on after the astra. 274bhp/266ft-lb. quite pleased..;)

Robocop- Nice set of defi's..!

911 28 August 2005 09:55 PM

Suggestion:

We should all wear tags with a mug-shot and Snet name to it at the next 'gathering'.

I'm still confused as to who I met there, but all who I did meet were great people.
PS could have 'charged' a £10 note for charity I recon?

Bloody hard work ontop of all those screaming engines especially for Andy (Fuzz).

Maybe they will do theis again as a Scooby shoot-out?...Oh no, number chasing !
The Civic was astonishing, but what trans did it have to take that lot?

Graham.

jasonius 28 August 2005 10:07 PM

Good idea Graham, or maybe a red carnation..?;)

LOL still not sure who I met either..?

When was this Civic up..? I left at 12.15 just as an ITR was going on, I'd been going for over an hour but kept thinking I'll just see this next one then go... then this next one and I'll go... humm, this looks interesting I'll just see this then go........!

PS I got there before the tea wagon at 9am. Would have been earlier if it wasn't for all the RFL fans going to Cardiff..!;)

A Type 25 made a considerable amount of power :D ;)

Yes we are indeed, I am holding any judgment on the whole thing until I have had a good chat with guy who did re-map, whilst not overly happy at moment dont see any point in bouncing around as Mr Angry. Keep you posted once I know what is happening.

V5-APS 30 August 2005 12:33 AM

What 'extras' on THAT Type 25 :) ????

sammyh 30 August 2005 01:04 PM

Not alot, its a work in progress ;)

That's an interesting dyno plot showing 158 bhp at the wheels.

When I had my remap done at Powerstation my wheel HP was 192 - alot more - although my engine power was 310BHP (only 4HP different!).The major difference was in the measured drag.

Am I right in saying that wheel HP is what's actually measured and BHP at the fly is interpreted from that figure and the coast down?

911 30 August 2005 06:24 PM

Smmy: care to expand on the engine spec?
I would die for that torque.

Graham.

jasonius 30 August 2005 08:58 PM

Interesting comment about w/hp I noticed the same thing on Saturday. My 05 WRX made 274bhp with 180bhp at the wheels, was quite supprised with robocops strange figures.

IIRC engine power and torque figures are interpolated (sp?) from w/hp. Can someone confirm this..?

;)

Can't say at the moment you'll have to wait a good few months for Litcho to release the details of the 06 T25 :)

Anyone able to comment on this and my post above?
