1994 WRX STI
 

Looking at getting one, seen a nice WRX Wagon and its an sti. been searching on here and cant find definative stats on it.

So, what power do they run. Its an Import one, so are these different?

Do they have forged pistons as standard?

What upgrades do they have over a standard WRX of that year?

blueprinted engine, yes forged pistons

'MarkySan' had/has a register for this year sti - do a search...:)

- cos im not completly sure estate has same spec as saloon.

Were the STi's limited in their prodction? Anyone know if the the Wagons were 250bhp??

Both 'Wagons and saloons were of limited production. STI1s were 'modified production' re-built at the STI factory. Due to this the Applied Model Numbers are the same as the WRX saloon and 'Wagon, but there will be an STI build plate. Both derivatives made 250PS but Im not sure that the 'Wagon had alloy front wishbones.

I missed the engine spec..... They have a closed-deck block (this is where the liners arent exposed which allows the headgasket a better seal) steel crankshaft & connecting rods and forged pistons.

Wasnt the build plate in the engine bay and wasnt it signed?

Those forged pistons and forged steel crankshaft wont last for more than a few seconds if the engine starts to detonate. ALL Classic Impreza STI models are imports and this car will run on nothing less than Optimax and it really needs octane booster too, either NF Race or Millers if you cant get it. Japanese Premium petrol currently has a RON of slightly over 100 and while that wasnt available in 1994, the car in question was designed to run on fuel with a higher octane rating than anything that we can currently buy. For longevity Id be looking at getting a replacement ECU, probably an A'Pexi PowerFC fitted and mapped by Andy Forrest for £750. Thisll save you £100+ on a Knocklink too as the CEL (check engine light) can be set to flash if/when knock is detected.
