Got my Euro import new in July 2000 after 6 month order, drove it home from Holland with a big grin and still grinning. Only cost me £16k and I've done 30,000 happy miles and it still drives like new. What would I replace it with that's such a good all-rounder??

pslewis 12 August 2005 01:21 PM

May 2000

Impreza wagon, waited 6 weeks ......

61,000 miles and standard ... same brakes/turbo/engine/gearbox/clutch/ECU

No chav items added, such as - CockLinks and no Change Gear NOW lights, no re-maps, no trackdays, no rolling road shoot-outs that are for babies ....

Pete :D

And the same @rsehole behind the wheel ;):D

Wurzel 12 August 2005 02:39 PM

Guilty :D

and unless Subaru do something really special I can see myself keeping it as the new cars are still not as good or as much fun as my 00 classic.

Gridlock Mikey 12 August 2005 03:01 PM

*Puts hand up* :luxhello:

85k miles MY00 March 01 No waiting list, last of the old shape, wished i'd bought a second hand one for 18k instead

mr flibble 12 August 2005 05:27 PM

ok mine wasn't from brand new but i did purchase it with only 5k on the clock nearly 5 years ago. October 2000 UK Turbo, 62k on the clock.

Haven't wanted to change the car really, test drove a PPP'd 'bug eye' WRX a few years ago, didn't put a smile on my face like my old classic.

Its lived with quite a few new age UK STi's on the road over the years :)

Simon, and others..... it's a my00, had to wait 6 agonising months for it.... but, picked it up March 1st 2000,.... since then, 45,000 basically trouble free miles, and lots of combinations of wheels.overall look, i got fed up with the original spoiler, so fitted a 22b replice jobbie..... but after about 2 yrs that started letting loads of water into the boot, so i thought if i have no holes in the lid there will be no way water can get in... so, off with that, weld the holes up and fit a BMW spoiler, fitted as it was, no reshaping or anything, and i thing it looks great, then i decided that the st2's that were on it had to go, so, then came the Rota's, that has made the hole thing looks far more discrete, and i luv it.......

It has a few mods ther somewhere... so it surprises a few people aswell.... debadged so some people don't even know what it is;)

Anyone wanna buy the plate i had on it..... S600BYO......pm me!

bob gray 12 August 2005 10:16 PM

me too silver 4 door, september 2000, 25000 miles now!

RaymondH 12 August 2005 10:39 PM

Got mine in May 98 after waiting for months. I still have it and it's just turned 29K :)
I've also spent a small fortune on it but that's another story :D (see page 72 in Scoobymag 6)

paul w 12 August 2005 11:04 PM

Yeah still got mine bought it brand new in nov 99,went to look at second hand one at dealers and came away with a brand new one 5 days later, got 30k on it now and saved a fortune on servicing as was not impressed with dealer so serviced it myself since it was a year old.

Bought it when my son was born and i reckon i'll still have it when he starts driving.

Eggweena 12 August 2005 11:10 PM

I really miss my classic, they really are fantastic cars...I moved to a blobeye because of a few problems with my MY99 and I thought it would be a big leap in the right direction. Although the new car is nice it's not got that little something that the classic had.

All of you guys/gals with good classics are very lucky indeed :)

Ian E 13 August 2005 09:29 AM

Had my MY00 from new March 2000 - EU Import from Holland (Gertjan). 40k miles. Top car - only fault I've had is a replacement Lambda sensor.
