A big thank you to Tony and Graham for organising the meet today at Kendal. 30 Imprezas, an Evo 5, an Evo 6 and a couple of Legacy's: Great turnout.
The run over towards Tebay was, er, interesting to say the least. Not sure about peoples braking points though!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif There were a few black lines left on the roads!

As for Wildings, well they could hardly be more welcoming. I've been to meets at other garages where the staff have been uninterested, but the hospitality was first class.

One small question though, the video that was playing the rallying started with a large STi logo. Surely that would invalidate the showrooms waranty? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

ps I can't spell Sunday either http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Just want to add my congrats and thanks to all for the 2 day event.

As a new scooby driver, attending my first meet (270 miles from home, had to be done!) I was apprehensive that people might be too techie. I just like driving fast cars fast and so did everyone else.

Know what you mean about the drive though; did anyone find out what happened to the pug 405 estate caught up in the middle of it?

TonyNesta 25 June 2000 10:20 PM

Cheers folks, roughly 40 cars at Wildings today, pretty good turnout I reckon. If you didn't come today, you missed an excellent day.

A LOT of new faces this weekend (Tony & Gill, the Fiddler family, Graham & Sue, Jason) plus catching up with a lot of 'the usual suspects' - you know who you are!

The drive started out a bit narrow, but turned out quite good in the end.

The Police Scooby was a bit of an eye-opener (strange hi-fi with big red and green buttons and no music!), and the Police, Camera, Action style videos made for compelling viewing - these were filmed by the two officers who gave the presentation today, Les and Dave - cheers lads. (JB - your telly was miles better than theirs!).

The BBQ and car washes raised £110 for the National Meningitis Trust, which I thought was really good, Thanks everyone. I'll post a note when I know how much sponsorship money we have raised from yesterday's treasure hunt. Jason Birks' comments sum it up: "GPS is no use at all when you haven't a clue where you are"

Graeme (and numerous assistants!) did a superb job of the Treasure Hunt, a really good route around Ulveston and Coniston.

Big thanks to all at Wildings, especially Phil and son Steve, they really made a big effort to keep everyone occupied.

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves,

T

Big thanks to Tony and Graham for doing all the leg work for the weekend, had a great time, if you do another treasure hunt I will be there to defend my title http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif
The police marked Subaru looked superb (just hope not to see it in the rear view mirror http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif ), the two traffic cops were really down to earth even to the degree of testing to see if Garys radar detector could pick up the laser gun.
All in all, Great company, Great cars and a Great weekend.

See you all at the next meet.

Jason

p.s. to Robert, Glen and the other guys from the North East let's get something sorted for a meet in the Newcastle area soon http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I can't let this pass without adding my thanks to all who were involved in the organising - you know who you are. It was great to do a run in the company of so many other scoobies and the convoy certainly turned a few heads http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif Wildings were very good and it was interesting to see the barrier deadlock in reality.Roll on the next one.

TonyNesta 26 June 2000 07:56 AM

I'll put my pics up once I get them developed and scanned.

Dave Coulshaw 26 June 2000 08:24 AM

Prof 26 June 2000 09:28 AM

Big thanks from the Fidler family (note spelling!) - we had a fantastic time, and are grateful to Graeme, Tony and all others for all the hard work.

Excellent treasure hunt. Good company. Weather held up for the barbie. Ace weekend.

Thanks to Tony, Graeme and Phil at Wildings for organising/staging the event. Oh and the barbecue chefs for carbon free grub!

Looking forward to the next adventure. Sue, Barry and Alexander.

Tony, Graham

Cheers, great event, cars, people.

I soooo enjoyed following an EvoV on the route (yes he was quicker but who cares I kept up).

I see there is an event in Scotland in a couple of weeks. Know where I'll be http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Sorry I had to cancel coming last weekend at the last minute, sounds like you had a great time. Hope to see you at the next one. I'm actually scoobyless at present as left job on tuesday and had to give my MY00 back!!!!!. Hopefully new MY00 will be here in a few weeks as the wife is getting fed up of me borrowing her Fiesta Zetec S. Not bad little car, VBH might like it, but it ain't no scoob.
