STOKE MEET- AUGUST 2005.

Evening all, just thought I'd spark the idea of another meet for Stoke/Staffs
scoob owners...............for a change;)

Seeing as no-one else can be bothered;)

I'll think about details over the next few days and dates etc etc.....

Would be good to have a proper turnout though, to start the ball rolling I'll start the usual list.

1) Skoosh.
2) ........?

Cheers 4 now.

Si.

I'm interested in the RR day also so long as it's not 200 miles away and isn't too dear. Before I do that I need to get my new turbo on, as the one currently on the car looks a bit iffy.

Has anyone got any st/stl welding wire I could buy/have please - I need about a metre for tieing some exhaust wrap onto my downpipe. I should get it lagged and the turbo heatshield back on now that the summer is here! :D

wildfire 29 July 2005 05:38 PM

Hi, where abouts is the rolling road that you are going to?

The Rolling Road is in Congleton. I went there a few months ago and it is £35 for a power run. We will have to sort out a time and date as it has to be booked in advance

Ayup you lot, glad to see some early interest in this and was wondering.............I'm going to get some "STAFFS SCOOBY CREW" window graphics made for the top of my rear window, probably in white and about 2" high.....won't cost alot, anybody else interested in these, perhaps in a different colour, probably cost about a tenner max.......?

Let me know and I'll arrange a GB.........;)

Si.

dannytwo 30 July 2005 09:39 PM

might be interested skooshy boy
as long as they dont look to chavish:D ;)

dannytwo 30 July 2005 09:43 PM

also i was wondering how everyone feels about maybe getting some walkietalkies:)?
this will be alot cheaper than using mobiles
and it will keep us intouch more
plus will be a bit of a laugh:D

dont think they cost a great deal.

what do you think?
or am i being silly:)

skoosh 31 July 2005 12:08 PM

Gav, can you contact the place in Congleton and ask how many places we can book as a block booking, also, how much time will we need per car, cost, dates available and how many places we can book.

Cheers, or give me the tel no.

Si.

Gav-WRX 31 July 2005 12:17 PM

the number is 01260297115 and ask for mike

speedydaveb 31 July 2005 05:29 PM

From their website:

Rolling Road Prices
4WD - £60 for the first hour then £35 per hour for subsequent hours

'Power Runs'
4WD - £35 +vat
including BHP / Torque power output graph printout

http://mikeanics.co.uk/prices.htm

Obviously this is their normal price rather than a group price and I doubt an hour per car is needed.

skoosh 31 July 2005 07:40 PM

FANCY A NIGHT OUT...........?

If you do and you enjoy watching bands..........get yourselves over to the Oxford Arms, Maybank, Newcastle on Saturday night, August 6th.

There's a really good Bryan Adams Tribute Band called RECKLESS playing there.....DRUMMER IS BLOODY BRILL.......;)

Si.

ps: if u do pop over, you'll need to be pretty early to get a seat, closed the doors at 9pm last time.

Mrs WRX 31 July 2005 07:52 PM

Bryan Adams? You havin a larf skoosh?

skoosh 31 July 2005 09:06 PM

No why..................?

Live music is NEVER as sedate as album recordings.......don't knock it till you've tried it............2 hour show, a packed house and plenty of loud rock music........Bryan's early album Reckless was actually voted in the top 50 all time best rock albums in KERRANG magazine........!!

ps: I also play the drums in said band........;)

Si.

Big scoob 31 July 2005 09:27 PM

I can vouch for that,if you like live music and want a good night out go see reckless, really good live band:)watch out for the dodgy drummer tho;)

Mrs WRX 31 July 2005 11:00 PM

I was only jesting skoosh, I figured you were the drummer! Not sure if Gav is working on the 6th as he was off this weekend. He has been on the net all weekend and gave me his shopping list for the car, it came to £3000! Felt faint and had to sit down!!!!

scotty44 31 July 2005 11:14 PM

Who goes to a gig and then sits down! :)
Might see you there, was thinking of having a rock weekend this weekend.
How much is it and do you do any other stuff? Rock disco after? Bar till 1pm!?

skoosh 01 August 2005 06:35 PM

Venue - Oxford Arms, Maybank, Newcastle, Staffs.
Date - Sat, August 6th
Venue opens - 19:30pm
Admission - 4.00
Capacity - 225

Venue has seating for 95 people and is usually sold-out by 21:00 and doors shut.

Band go onstage at 21:15 until 23:30 with NO breaks, yes that's right, a 2 hour show.........unheard of in these parts.......!!!!

Reckless are a Bryan Adams Tribute band playing all the chart hits ranging from early 80's upto present day and, yes we do play "everything I do" because we have to, although it's alot heavier and there's a mutha of a guitar solo at the end.

Hope to see some of you there and I guarentee a good night out.

Si.

assti 01 August 2005 06:43 PM

Me and bec (and bump) would of come to watch you skoosh, But again you've decided to have a gig when i'm working on afternoons. Maybe next time. When is your next gig?
