Bugger - Sump Bolt Snapped.... Ideas?

Its is one on the (if the engine is turned upside down with the bellhousing at the back) top right on the corner. All the others are fine. This one just sheared :(

Any ideas for getting it out? Or should the others hold the sump on fine?

looks like you'll havee to drill it with a 3mm tungsten carbide bit and then use an "easy-out" to remove whats left:D

If it's on the straight area rathe rthan on one of the corners you will get away with leaving it as you'll be using red sealant paste to seal the sump to the block anyway

Good Luck!

Try any local light engineering firms - lots of these will be able to remove it properly, and dont charge a fortune. Doing it yourself seems like a good idea, but easy-out things never work on tight or seized bolts, and you'll end up spending hours faffing about with it, and still not get it out.

Cheers guys. Tried that Russell and got nowhere. Think you got to have delicate touch to do that and I don't have that as I wouldn't of done this in the first place then :(

It is on a straight bit and have used a clamp to secure it nice and tight :) Loads of Three Bond on there and I reckon it will hold.

The lesson to be learnt here..... When in doubt.... BODGE ;) :D (If it is your car lol)
