Fitting gauges?
 

I need a tee piece for the oil sender, Ive been told also that i will need a new sump plug and that the oil temp sensor goes into this. Is this true????? I had some dealings with an arogant car parts salesman earlier who said id need one. I left it as all he was interesting in was a sale and the operatunity to fit them.

Just to add - My dad (whos fitting them for me!) plans to fit both from the top via the tee piece, and channel it in from a point on the manifold.

If so, You can use a blanked off hole for the oil temp.
Its on top of the block, left of the intercooler as you stand at the front of the car facing the engine.

IIRC -

Oil pressure - tee into the original pressure sender which hides underneath the altenator.
Oil Temp - blanking plug on top of the block, by the intercooler.

Can't find this blanking plug. Any chance someone could take a pic of its location and post it up please?

I thought you could run both the temp and the pressure off the bit under the alternator ??
I have 3 gauges to fit and need to find a guide if possible. Does it seem like something worth attempting or should i take it to a scooby place.

It's relatively easy to do, mine took a day, but with plenty of stops for coffee, thought, etc.

Firstly, you don't really need the T piece for the oil pressure, simply remove the OE oil pressure switch and screw the new sender into it's place........assuming the sender to be able to fit, my Defi one fit perfectly, with a little PTFE tape on the threads. When I say fit, I mean in the available space, rather than into the threads. The OE oil pressure switch is redundant, and operates at far too high a pressure anyway.

Secondly, the blanking plug.
Remove intercooler, and look down on top of cylinder block, cylinder number three, which is rear, driver's side. The plug is flat, about 30mm across, with a hex depression cast into it for an Allen key., and coloured to match the block, so not easy to see. I had to go out and buy a long 8mm hex key to remove mine. The oil temp sender goes into this hole with an adaptor, which I bought from Scoobymania who supplied my Defis and the pod they sit in. Cost around £8 I think. Put it in by screwing it lightly onto a biro barrel for reach, with PTFE tape on it's threads, again, then removed biro barrel when it started in it's thread, and tightened it with a socket.The sender fits in it, again with PTFE tape.
