Blitz boost gauge wiring

As above. My existing boost gauge uses 3 wires, ignition, lighting and earth (i think)
I have a blitz boost gauge and it only comes with 2 wires, black and yellow.
I have tried the wires in different combinations etc, but cannot get it to illuminate.
Firstly, should it illuminate. If so, what wire goes where?
Dont know what model of gauge it is, but this is a similar one. Any ideas

Not certain, but aren't these like the Defi ones, thast need a control unit to make them work?

I have Defis, and the control box had three connections, Live ign, permanently live and earth, and a connector for each sender. Two wires then run from it in a daisy chain to each gauge.

If its got a hose connection then I would think its mechanical type gauge.
Then the 2 wires should be for illumination, Depending if the gauge uses led,s for illumination then it will only wire up one way, so test it with a 12v battery.
If the gauge is using bulbs for illumination then it should not matter which wire you use for live.
I have the black faced Blitz gauge which uses 2 small bulbs. Its a 2 wire type with a small connector that fits to the back of the gauge.
It was fitted during daylight & I thought the leds/bulbs were blown or I had bought a faulty gauge, as I could not see any illumination when switched on. I even went out & brought new brighter bulbs. It was only until I tested the gauge indoor in the dark I found it was working perfect.
I have used the ciggy lighter illumination positive wire for my live connection & body for earth.

Yes, that sounds the same. Mine has a connector that goes into the back of the gauge and the 2 wires. I , like you, connected it up in the day. So i will have another go tomorrow and try and cover it up, so i can see if it illuminates.
Thank you.:)

Cant get the bugger to illuminate!
I have used all combinations of the existing 3 wires used for the boost gauge that is already in, no joy. I can only guess that the bulbs might be blown.
BTW, it is the mechanicaltype gauge, as it has a nipple (snigger:lol1:) on the back for a boost hose.
Any ideas :ponder2:

My 1st check would be to remove the bulbs from the back, my blitz gauge has removable bulbs with holder, so I am guessing your does too.
If they are fine then just wiggle the wiring connection at the back, could be slighty loose.
Otherwise I guess the male part of the connector at the back of the gauge has either broken or has a loose connection inside the gauge.
