Angled/straight exit Back Boxes - Questions
 

Am I right in saying that angled exit and straight exit refer to if the back box is angled up slightly or facing straight out and the back box is level?

Where does the angle start? is the back bos or from the centre section?

Reason for asking is that I have a mix of miltek and magnex de cat system ending in a straight back box but I prefer the angled look (seems more Jap import to me) and I fancy something a little louder.

And finally how can I tell what the bore of my exhaust is without taking it off. Is it just a case of getting under the car and measuring the pipe?

Might sound silly and pretty obvious but I just want to check :)

yeh its just the design that comes out the back. Angled boxes have better flow for the gasses due to less bends in the pipework. the centre section stays the same and after the back box joins the centre and goes towards the back instead of doing like an 'S' to make the pipe come out straight it just bends to the side for the side exit look.

Exhaust Bore
 

Bore is the size of the 'hole' through the centre of the pipe or the pipe's diameter. It depends how arrurate you need it to be?

Crawl under the car and measure round the outside of the pipe. Bit of simple maths, diameter = Circumference / pi and there you go.

pi = 3.141 if you dont know that already???

Here you go Edd... check under your car and you will see how much your pipe bends around the rear diff.. on an angled exit the angle the back box sits it straightens that bend right out, check this out
