Hi,

I actually found some alternative ones from US, a company had some for another make of car and it said contact us for more models available. So I did and they had some for the scoob. There response and communication has been excellent so far, I think I am there first UK customer. I asked them if they could do me a set in 'Real Carbon Fibre' as opposed to the lookalike stuff and they did it for a 20% extra cost. I'll dig out the website and the cost, they do different interiors .i.e. if it is a classic / newage.. if it has digital AC or manual AC dash controls, manual & auto etc.

They said it would take 10 days to ship.. I'll report back when i get them.

Hi All,

At last my dash kit has arrived, all the way from Brooklyn, NY in the US.

All I can say is WOW :notworthy .. This stuff looks the dogs :thumb: :thumb:

The whole communication and transaction was very smooth and painless, unlike some other companies who claim to ship worldwide. I've had more hassle trying to order stuff from my local dealer, and this kit has come half way around the world, perfectly packed and arrived with not a mark or bump :thumb:

I'll reserve all-out praise until I have fitted it tommorrow.

The company is www.bdtrims.com and on ebay there user id is 'bdtrims'. They do several kits to suit several dash layouts. I opted for the Genuine carbon fibre one, and came in at £88 including p&P which is a result. I'll dig out the email of the person i spoke to at the company... I think I was their first UK Customer.... somebody may want to try a group buy them if these turn out ok tommorrow.

I'll post some pics and report when its done :)

Invoice printed in the states says the 3rd october ... so does the UPS shipping label... and I got it on the 6th .. which is damm good :notworthy
They said it may take up to 10 days to deliver so can't fault them there.

I just checked my pay pal account and my payment when through on the 19th sept, so the whole transaction was done in approx two weeks :)

Fizz 09 October 2005 04:47 PM

I would be really interested in the details of these guys in the states

WRX_Rich 09 October 2005 06:12 PM

just what I need, got a big scratch on the surround of the heater controls

Mutts Nutts 09 October 2005 07:24 PM

I will post up the details and photos tommorrow from work :).

All whent OK apart from a few minor issues

1/ only 1 alcohol wipe was included in kit which lasted for about 4 pieces of the kit. I would get a couple more in advance, and make sure the areas are spotlessly clean... any silicone or the dash shine stuff left on will be a :nono:

2/ Only 2 sticks of the 3M adhesive primer/bonder, could have done with more as run out. This stuff evaporates pretty quickly, so again get some more in advance if you can. I just made sure the surface was extra clean when i ran out and a good trick was using a hair dryer to heat up parst of the kit to make the backing adhesive extra tacky.

3/ I couldnt fit 2 of the 4 the panels that are made for the window switchgear in the doors... this was because the cuts outs were wrong for my model. this was thye only part that didnt fit the rest was 100% accurate. On my driver door panel it has an extra switch at top right that is a 'Door Lock' and no cut out for this. This was on my MY04 wrx wagon ... saloons may not have this switch so panel may be ok. Its not a big problem anyway.

On the whole this is a result :thumb:

photos will be online tommorow and i'll grab the contact details

AshleyJ WRX 09 October 2005 07:24 PM

Yes I am also interested getting one of these.... waiting for the pics :)

AsianGunner 09 October 2005 09:22 PM
