Becoming more racist

asked a few people about this today

does anybody feel themselves becoming more and more racisit these days?

try and be honest
it seams like the BNP and national front are grabbing more and more members all the time

Freak 16 July 2005 07:03 PM

I hate everyone :norty:

16vmarc 16 July 2005 07:04 PM

It depends on the citcumstances i suppose. When i went to Tenerife 6 years ago, all the elecrical shops were run by Pakistanis selling slr cameras as digitals and charging silly money for Game Boys. This doesnt really give a good reputation and you end up stereotyping everyone else.

Probably the reason people are racist though as they tarnish everyone with the same brush!

Freak 16 July 2005 07:08 PM

serious mode on/

Its always been there tho..... just now its politcally incorrect and all that crap, and raises media attention, so maybe appears more prominent?

i watched an old episode of fools and horses the other day...and del boy said 'p*ki shop', and lets not mention alf garnet :lol1: That was prime time BBC1 stuff remember.

Mind you, all this middle east crap and people blowing themselves to bits must hack a lot of people off, so it wouldnt surprise me to be honest if a new generation grows up with a slightly skewed slant on it all.

And i agree with wrxpete below too.... spot on

WRXPete 16 July 2005 07:09 PM

It's the sad truth that things seem to be going that way, and the eventually there will be a huge backlash.
I am not a racist, i recognise that Britain over the centuries has had large influxes of immigrants. Afro-caribbeans and south east asians are more recent but many families are already 5 or more generations removed from their original countries.
What i feel is lacking is that people forget what it really is to be British....just because the majority are white doesn't mean that british means to be joe average white bloke....British is about embracing our history and culture, doing your bit, playing by the rules.....if an Afghan bloke turned up tomorrow and got himself a job and a mortgage, bought a home and paid his taxes, he would be British......if a white british **** spent his day cussing an immigrant from the dole queue, fiddling the social out of money and drinking and doing anything to avoid working whilst getting a new house given to him for stupidly low rent, i'd say he's about as far removed from being British as you can get....
If we kicked out all the chav scum not contributing to society then there'd be plenty of room for all the immigrants ( and i mean the genuine ones, not the freeloaders) who wish to come and work and help make Britain great again.
So yes i'm a racist, i hate the race of lazy chavs draining this great nation.
I am English, i'm proud of it, i hate that people don't celebrate St Georges Day and ban me from having a George Cross in my window, but i'd never stop anyone doing the same.....Tony and Co, grow a backbone and let's celebrate the cultures of our country...let's celebrate our native country, even if it isn't part of the British Isles, but accept that we are British and remember what that means.
We are the greatest nation in the world, who wouldn't want to be a part of that!!!!

Rant over

16vmarc 16 July 2005 07:17 PM

but i wont, i would let it be this time

Danny B 16 July 2005 07:54 PM

Do you feel more racist these days?
The way in which you ask the question implies that we are aready racists.
But in answer to your poll, no. How can I feel a racist when "Born & Bred Brits" have recently blown up 60 people in Central London?

Slartibartfast 16 July 2005 08:01 PM

moses does more to promote racism than anybody else. BNP - Radical Islam - take your choice. They are both sides of the same coin.

In the same way the good muslims are denouncing the extremists, I sincerely hope us good white Brits denounce the racist pillocks in our society and this board developing racist views (as evident from the poll results).

Puff The Magic Wagon! 16 July 2005 08:37 PM

Nothing has made me change my views on different cultures as part of our society - why should a couple of extremists do that? Besides they're dead now.

I'm more worried about the idiots on the far right trying to stir up trouble.

Chip 16 July 2005 08:40 PM

Muslims are just as racist as anyone else, more in fact.

The people of the UK are just totally fed up of all the PC rantings by governments, councils etc. Just look at any Gov, council, large organisations booklets, leaflets, job adverts etc. They all feature ethnics very heavily. As do all kids programmes as well, Why?, because their frightened not to, in case they're accused of being racist and they have to be politacally correct. It's a bloody joke.

It's about time someone in HM government had the balls to stand up to all that is rotting away what used to be Great Britain.

I'm the same as I've ever been, if immigrants are fair and good people they deserve a chance.

What I think people are getting less tolerant are the abusers, criminals, whingers and loiterers, basically the ones that don't want to be part of society and the ones that labour governments pander to.

I'd only worry about them if they start blowing things up. They've been around for years and are regarded as a joke my the vast majority.

I know who I feel more threatened by.

:(

So they've started blowing up Wales, have they? The fact is you are more threatened by being struck by lightening than by misguided individuals with tnt in their rucksacks.

Puff The Magic Wagon! 16 July 2005 09:42 PM

Whereas the far right could persuade enough gullible people to allow them a crack at power and I sure as heck don't want that

ProperCharlie 16 July 2005 09:46 PM

Personally, I think stickymick's poll lacked an option:

i feel i am becoming less and less racist

wwp8 16 July 2005 09:52 PM

how many of you have used this phrase,
cos i get this phrase alot

"i'm not being racist BUT..(enter comment)"

this island is a multi national, it has no identity anymore!
the only thing where the UK has a identiy is sport, even then you get other countrys playing over here, these so called 5 generation Brits, the majority follow not England they follow where there ancestors come!
English and proud?............. but not racist
