Good Xbox game for 5 year old?
5th birthday....
he loves Lego Starwars on Xbox.....only other game he played was Doom 3 and it gave him nightmares. Need a game that is: simple to play, no complex plot rubbish, no complex puzzle solving stuff, lets you shoot/stab/kill/blow up/etc or something similar good enough that i will play it too. maybe 2 player option? if it ties in with a cartoon or movie that may be cool whats new and suits my needs? T ps- can you get Chucky Egg for xbox? i loved that on the Acorn Electron! |
None, kids that young shouldnt be subjected to video gaming imo.
|
Any of the Crash Bandicoot series are cool enough for a grown up to play and simple enough for a 5 yr old.
|
Crash Twinsanity is excellent for child and adult, very funny, great graphics and gameplay. You fire live creatures from your gun etc :thumb:
|
Just noticed the Doom 3 bit. You Tiggs, are a very stupid parent.

It's certainly more mentally stimulating than television, it promotes hand/eye coordination and it starts the development of a healthy sense of winning and losing at tasks. Edited to add: gotta agree about Doom 3 though  |
Are you trying to turn your kid into as lardy assed aesmatic blob?
He should be out on his bike making friends and taking exercise. |

I'd say 16 before I let them lose with a PS or XBox, well after they have proved themself academically and in the 'real' world of the outdoors, where they will get more experience and more eye to hand co-ordination doing what kids should be doing, exploring, making gang huts and dens, climbing trees, seeing what's what in nature etc. Video games can stifle most youngsters creativity to the point where they go into a trance and go ga-ga when you take it away from them. |

Isn't Tiggs the one who get's on his high horse when people flout the law, break speed limits and is generally very oppinionated or have I got him and tiggers mixed up???? :Suspiciou :Suspiciou
Who is then letting a 5 yr old play an 18 rated game and then I wonder why my films get cut to shreds to 'Protect the children'. Arrgh! Buy him Crash Bandicoot or get a Gamecube with Kirby and Mario et al. Not Resident Evil. |
A bit off topic but what drugs can I give my kids? My 5 year old tried crack once but it killed him. :D
You've set yourself up Tiggs ;) |
Andy, you know I meant in moderation. They're ok for those days when it's p!ssing down outside or there's no friends around to play 5 Go Mad in Dorset with.
Research shows that the brain is more active when asleep than when watching tv so if it was a toss up between tv and suitable xbox game I wouldn't hesitate to let the game go on. |
you let him play doom3  video games for 5 year olds are very hard to find as they cant read yet so you have to sit thru the whole game with them. what about star soldier as its just an original type shooter
forgot to say my daughter loves Bomberman and so do i :) but she is too young to realise when she dies and the computer is playing and im 100% sure your son will be the same :) |
lol...what a bunch of idiots.
my kids get home from school and go straight out to play in the fields behind the house......however, on weekend he likes to spend a couple of hours on the Xbox....less than some of you fools spend polishing your bloody cars! so crash bandicoot it is :D T ps.....Doom 3......have you played it? not that scary - and his nightmares about zombies stopped....................after he saw Jaws.........kept waking up screaming "SMILE YOU SON OF A BITCH......" |
Yup, it's lewis, the to$$er. Hows your sh1t photography skills coming on, about the same as your parenting skills you total w@ster.

no offence andyp but when u was 5 ur parents went worried about someone running off with you? when i was 10 ish i went all over but wouldn't dream of letting my kids do the same, i guess its the world we live in.
|
No offence either, but thats pure crap. There is no more chance of that hapening than now than there was back then, just more media coverage and exposure. Run off now and buy a Boots extra large pack of cotton wool m8.
|
 or maybe they wanted some one 2?
|
5 year olds shouldn't be playing Xbox games that's for sure. But, Cell Damage is pretty good fun.
|
Well you of anyone should know Jack, brain damage more like it imo :)

hardly a backtrack.................i have posted on many occassions that my kids play outside more than most in these times of excessive "hide the kids from evil" fears.....one of my resons for buying a house backed by open fields. you will eveb find some of my recent posts attacked as my kids will often play in the close and this was disliked by retards that think such space is for them and fast cars. my original post just asked for a game for a 5 year old...............if you wish to assume from that how i raise my kids then you crack on.................or as my kids would say "fukc you, you stinking zombie" |
