what year is car reg "EKZ"

Hi - I'm new to the forum. Found it while trying to search for year for car registrations. I've seen a Vauxhall Vectra CDX and the registration is EKZ but the showroom's always closed by the time I'm passing! Does anyone have any idea what year that might be?

I know it could've been re-registered but it would be a good starting point for me!

Many thanks :)

If you are referring to a Northern Ireland number plate, the reg number is dateless. the letters refer to the issuing county.

If you are referring to a mainland plate, the letters at the end are completely random.

Very strange question

Sounds like a Northern Irish plate. They are issued according to a sequence and by area, so if someone else out there has a EKZ plate, then maybe they can help with the date - they can be dated if you're a complete petrol-head, but not by me as I haven't lived there for many years.

However, if it's on a car on the mainland then, like you say, its probably been re-registered.

If its on the mainland it means its a dodgy body kitted 5 series BMW (circa 1989) being driven by some unsavoury types, also seen on Merc E class's of the same era, probably with blacked out windows and chrome arches.

EKZ is not dateless its about a 2000-2001

EKZ would be a Co.Antrim plate which is currently at OKZ for 2005

I have an EKZ reg classic, it was first registered in february 1999, but as the plates over here do not run yearly, it could refer to a car between 1998 and 2001 depending on how many cars were registered in the local area. I would say its probably a 1999
Hope that helps

The car is registered in Northern Ireland and I've just found out it was in fact registered in 2001.

Many thanks
