War of the worlds or War of the worlds

With some trepidation, i have booked to see the war of the worlds on saturday..

My worry is it has the words.....

"re imagining & tom cruise in the same sentance"....

after his huge ego fest in mi2 i,m not to sure what this will be like..

i fancy the Pendragon version of the film, but cant find any release dates etc...

i,ve popped a poll in for your votes that count!!

I was really gutted when I found out he was going to be in it, and he has signed for two sequels too

Where's the option for Jeff Wayne's version? ;)

Don't know what the Pendragon WOW looks like so can't really comment.

I'm looking forward to watching it even if it has TC in it. MI2 was laughable but I like Minority Report.

Whats the Pendragon one about then - apart from invading aliens :D

Sequels?

Do they come back after getting flu jabs or something?

I'm going to see War of the Worlds on Thrusrday (Superior seating booked ;) ). I'm really looking forward to it, despitie my initial reservations over TC being in it. However, the trailers I've seen have got me very excited to see this film.

The other version (Tim Hines directed I think) has gone stright to DVD and only available in the US (at the moment anyway) . I'm going to try and get a copy as despite the lower budget and general poor reviews for this one, I still want to see it.

Don't forget the CGI version of Jeff Wayne's Musical version coming out sometime in 2006 or 2007. That should be worth seeing.. :)

I'm in two minds about the Hollywierd version, as usual, US Cast, US Based, Yanks save us all from doom (One could think that it was Emerich, rather than Speilberg doing it! ;)), hmm, not quite what HG had in mind. It'll be the typical action fest, but that's not always a bad thing. As long as the "machines" look somewhat like the creations from Jeff Wayne's version, rather than the odd things from the last US film version, then that'll be a plus.

I will certainly be getting a copy of the Pendragon version, I recall seeing the trailer and being very impressed, set in the right time period and that's a major bonus.

They only casted Tom Cruise to make the fighting machines look taller....
astraboy.

If Pendragon have set it to waynes score, it will in my opinion be awseome..

unlike speilberg who has *******ised burtons opening line ...

why did he have to change it...

it just shows how incredibly Thick the yanks are!!!

mesage to spielburg.... dont f*ck with a classic !!!

if you want to reimagine something, reimagine the vietnam war

lol :D

Just seen the remake and its pretty good.

Some aspects of the original 1953 film version.
Obviously not what HG Wells originally visualised but a good romp on the whole.

Very loud and destructive, literally as well, the film melted half way through and it took about 15 minutes to get it running again:rolleyes:
Got a free pass for that:D
