Forester question

If you had a Forester 2.0 XT, and put on a PPP, it is recomended that you fit 17inch wheels. If you had a Forester 2.5 XT, (about the same figures as 2.0 with PPP) it comes with std with 16inch wheels. :cuckoo: :cuckoo:
Why would a 2.0 with about 210 bhp need bigger wheels, and not a 2.5 with 210 ish?? :cuckoo:

Confused

We feel that the car is greatly improved by changing the std 16" wheels and Geolander tyres for something better suited to on road use as they can give the traction and grip needed to exploit the performance safely.

Subaru in Japan launched the 2.5 with the same wheels and tyres as the 2.0 but the fact still remains that if you want to use all the performance of even the std car we would suggest using a tyre better suited to on road use, particularly in the wet.

We now have a performance package available for the 2.5XT which has taken the output up even further to 255ps and with this we suggest that you must fit at least 17" wheels and road based tyres, in fact we now have just had an 18" wheel and tyre package approved for this car if you are really serious about it.

Mike,

Do you have any idea when the 18" wheels will be at the dealers and are there any suspension mods on the way?

Paul,

I've got a Forester 2.5 XT, still on the standard wheels and tyres and i can tell you they don't offer a great deal of grip, squeel if you show them a corner and can lose traction in 3rd gear at about 5000 rpm if the roads not 100% flat.
