NOKIA phones (useful facts)

just got this email, and maybe useful for some of you guys.

(1).Imagine your mobile battery is very low, you are expecting an important
Call and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with reserve
Battery.

To activate, key is *3370# your mobile will restart with this Reserve and
your instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This Reserve will get
charged when you charge your cell next time.

(2).The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself
out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial
112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the

emergency number for you.

And interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even while
the keypad is locked.

Try it out

The code you mention disables the higher quality codec for voice transmission and correspondingly increases battery life: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/archive/t-16787

You can dial 999 with the keypad locked as well - I know from experience!

I wouldnt advise ppl to try out dialing 112

But I can confirm that dialing 112 and 999 with the keypad locked is possible

You really did just copy and paste didn't you? It says that under (2) of your first post!!!

And yes it is, I've used it once or twice.

You can also dial 911 & 100 from a locked phone too

Anyway of turning that off? I've unwittingly dialled the emergency services so many times that I'm sure they'll just ignore me next time I really mean to call them. It must waste so much of their time !!!

Hi,

if you're mobile and you need the emergency services I read you should dial 118 rather than 999 as this routes your call to a special mobile emergency services dispatch centre and they're able to pinpoint your locaiton etc.
