Red Wrinkle Paint for STi Manifold
Thinking of painting the STi manifold, can anyone suggest a suitable paint for this, any points to be wary off.
Thanks |
The best way (read longest lasting) is to get the manifold powder coated to the colour of your choice, much more durable than other methods. Had mine done along with the rocker covers for £90, would have been dearer if i chose a colour that wasnt in stock.

Thanks for the advice, is the finish smooth or wrinkled as original.

I, and loads of other owners have used this paint on the manifold. The nearest that you will get to the OE red wrinkle finish. |

For a supply only on an exchange basis we charge £70.00 plus VAT That includes strip, clean, prime and repaint with 3 coats of red crackle and then heat cure. What a Bargain !! If you want it like the original i would talk to David. If you want a finish that IMO is more durable but smoother then powder coating is the way to go. |
David @ API painted mine with the rebuild, its still looks spot on with no flaking or cracking. I would recommend.
