Manual to Electric Windows

Is this a straightforward job on a classic scooby. Mine has currently got manual winders on the 4 windows, is it possible to convert the front two windows to electric without any major modifications to the mechanism etc. ????????

Any help appreciated, and if anyone has a set of electric motors etc for sale from a breaker or something similar it would help

Many Thanks
Chris.

I'm in the MIdlands, just off junction 10 of the M42 so fairly central.

Is it a straight swap do you know from the manual to the electric windows ??

Thanks
Chris.

Couldn't say if iys a straight swap, but I'm sure the breakers will advise.

By coincidence I am looking to change my electric windows to manual ones to save weight from the electric window motors - my car is used for motorsport so weight saving is more important than functuality.

If you can ascertain how easy the change is we could perhaps come to a deal.

That sounds good to me, i'm actually after the electric windows due to the fact that my winder is directly behind the roll cage and so i cant open the windows with the door shut. :)

E-mail me at stuart.butler@heritage.co.gg

In that case I might have the same problem as I hadn't thought about the fact the rollcage might get in the way.

I have a Safety Devices roll cage with door bars so would have to determine where the manual winder sits in relation to the rollcage.

Yeah i thought that when you said motorsport use. I fitted a Sparco competition cage myself with a little help from a friend who is a welding god.

Anyway check it out on yours, you may have to put up with the little bit of weight.

Take a look and let me know.

Cheers Minty.
