Erm...how does that work!? (Mobiles)

Hope I'm not being too naive here....I'm with Orange and want to my upgrade my phone to a Nokia 6630 (just got to the end of a contract - talktime 120). Phoned up and was told '£30 please sir'. Knowing other providers are doing these free (also even the 6680) I told them - 'no sir, still £30'. Ok - 'give me the PAC - I'm leaving'. Absolutely no challenge, it was texted in 30 secs!

So, onto the Orange website, the same phone on the same tariff is free to new customers...WTF?! Rang Orange, and was told that it was an internet only offer and they still wouldn't give me one for free! Customer loyalty my brown eye.

Will not be getting a penny more of my hard earned...anyone know of the best deals out there at the moment?

Thanks in advance,

Nev

They waived the charge for my dad's new 6230i with no hassle whatsoever, weird!

I think it will just come down to crap training (one hand doesnt know what the other is doing etc etc), or the person at the other end is having a sh1t day and wants to be awkward.

Ring again and you will probably get a different answer or ask for a supervisor and they will probably waive it for an easy life.
