help me please

last saturday i took my94 wrx down to a car show, but i did'nt make it.i blew the top radiator hose.
anyway: i got the car towed back home and bodged the hose up with a spare piece i had in the shed. then i just topped both of the bottles up and then fired it up,and all seemed well.

until tonight. as soon as i left my house i noticed the warning light on(the 1 above the seatbelt light)

i just thought it was a faulty handbrake switch or a warndown pad.
but when i got a bit further there was steam coming out the bonnet vents.

so i turned it off and i saw green anti freeze over the engine,so i quickly drove home to find that the top of the radiator was cold.

did i have a air lock? and what is the correct way to bleed the water system?

i have searched the forums but i can't find nothing

Best way to bleed air out is to;

1. Undo bottom hose and drain.
2. Put bottom hose back on (Important ;-))
3. Fill up VERY SLOWLY with 40% Antifreeze mix and 60% deionised water and stop every litre or so to...
4. ...Squeeze both top and bottom hose a dozen times (gets air out).
5. Loop between step 3. and 4. until...
6. Full up to the brim.
7. Run engine with cap off for a couple of minutes and top up slowly...
8. When engine warm but not too hot, put cap back on.
9. Check for leaks.
10. Check level after cooled down.

dont wanna upset ya mate but me mates 94 wrx were pressuring up and boilin over the other week and turned out to be one of the headgaskets took it to scoobyclinic as thought thermostat were sticking, they put a new one in still the same took it to another garage in derby to be told headgasket,as part of the rad were cold on his like it were an air lock would definately get it checked out.

you maybe right mate.but it was ok until the the hose split the first time.because all i done was:

bodged the hose up.
refilled with tap water.
took it for a little drive.
then way i went. did'nt did nothing else.
so i reakon its something to do with me not bleeding the system?

i maybe wrong tho
