Whats this Elec component??
I blew my wetvac up :cuckoo:
it was sparking and making mad popping noises, it had gotten wet after sum extensive cleaning ;) i bought it from a website, cant rember the name now and i dont recall getting a reciept (now i think about it) its under 1 year old, but i figure its a waste of time going for the warrenty route as its been used for comercial use anyway so i pulled it apart and traced it down to this little bugger http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...06-05_1833.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...06-05_1831.jpg it was bridgeing the live and neutral as soon as it entered the head of the wetvac, removed it and the hoover now works fine, its there for a reason, what is the reason? only thing i could think of was sum kind of power smoothing thingybob? |
supression capacitor? used to stop interference with radio equipment
|
Yep as above.
Now your missus can peeve you off even more when she does the hooving whilst your watching the TV ;) PS use the Macro mode on your camera next time, so I can read the writing on it :) |
ahh its the wetvac at work, so supression is not an issue
it got wet and blew up :D so i dont really need to order a new one then? dont know if my phone has a macro mode  |
LOL This is why phones should be phones and cameras should be cameras :D
Its like using a wet vac to mow your lawn ;) Anyhoo ...it works dunnit? Ain't broke don't fix :D There is a remote chance it could have been a starting capacitor, but if it was it wouldn't be working now, or it would go backwards, or the brushes would arc like crazy. |
i had a funny feeling it might work for the short term but then blow because this part was missing
if its for supression, i will bin the thing :D |
