First post...'97 WRX

Let me start by saying hi to everyone.. Im new to Scoobynet and Subaru ownership. I have recently been converted from my Alpina B3 BMW to Impreza's. Fell in love with the exhaust note and had to have one!!

I now have a Silver '97 wrx import with a few mods..Huge exhaust..HKS Dump valve..18" Gold alloys and lots of other bits on it..Well happy.

Visited Castle Coombe for Japfest and found it to be a very good day out..except for the rain!! Looking forward to Santa Pod on the 19th!!

I have a set of what looks like shift lights on the dash board, going from green to red, does anyone know if these are indeed shift lights or something else, ive read on other forums about a 'knock link'...whats that??

Sounds like a 'Knocklink'..... it provides a visual indication/warning when detonation occurs. Green is OK, amber is a warning and red is very bad.

ok, thanks.

Ive found that using different types of fuel makes the knocklink act in different ways. Tends to be mostly in the green with optimax but flutter alot more with BP ultimate.

What would everyone recommend fuel and booster wise considering the car is an import with induction and exhaust mods?? Does it matter thar much??

If you do use an OB Id recommend Nitrous Formula, now imported by Roger Clark Mototsport. It doesnt cost any more to use than Millers and in my experience its markedly superior.

Ive heard that theres a new recipe (for NF) and that the new stuff isnt a good as the old though*.
