How much is it worth
 

Hi Guys,

Work have just thrown out a Compaq NX7000 laptop due to a faulty motherboard. Its a decent spec laptop :

Centrino 1.6
Widescreen
DVD+R
512MB onboard
60 GB HDD.
100% good battary. Ie 4 hours +

As a rough guess, what would you say it was worth for an ebay sale?

Strip it and sell the parts individually and I'd think you'd see £400.

The real kicker was the memory is smt'd on the board so my hopes that it might go in my 12" powerbook kinda died a death lol.

Is it not covered by Warranty, its quite a recent looking spec.

If it is, get board swapped (or buy a new one) and punt it on ebay for £500

The warranty expired 2 months ago, but a new board is £440 ex VAT :eek:

Are you sure you cannot get a motherboard from a reseller or service centre?

Failing that sell it for parts.
