Please help, electric wheelchairs

Right, I got lots of help getting info about an adapted van from the community a couple years ago so I'm asking for information on a related subject...wheelchairs!
My mother can't move at all, she's trasferred by hoist from chair to bed to wheelchair etc etc she has the use of one hand, so can drive a 'leccy wheelchair.
As a result she is a little large (she's well fat in fact!!) and needs a very comfortable yet supportive electric wheelchair, it'd be used for jaunts down the road into town, but also would love it to be comfortable enough to sit in in the back of the van for longer trips. We'd like one that uses nice modern batteries so weighs a bit less, and which works well. The one provided by the health service is a joke, old, heavy and uncomfortable.
So if anyone can recommend a manufacturer/dealer with good servce I'd appreciate it.

Big Daz - Lomax stuff is a disgrace, they have about as much style as a daewoo.

You're not wrong. Mind you, the ex designer bit might have explained why. :D

Everything about the Lomax range wreaks of relatively mass market production made to look like a bespoke range, badly too.
