XP 64bit

Any1 tried it yet? I have a corporate edition courtesy of work, (yes it's legal) but not installed it as yet. In CShopper the review summary was basically there is no difference to the eye over XP32bit SP2. Is it worth installing yet, as there isnt really any apps out there to take advantage of the 64bit architecture. I have a partition I can install it to, so Im going to test it, but was just wondering if theres any point.

Good point! I hear battlefield 2 will only be an XP64 game as well. That will make sure aload of punters upgrade for sure :) It needs a minimum of 2gb of ram to run though apparently

There's only 32 bit apps to run on Windows 64bit

Until applications come out that are designed to utilise 64bit you won't see much difference

Apps are less of problem at the moment, than the DRIVERS.... there isn't huge support right now, and you could well have problems getting the best out of your hardware.

Saying that tho.. it's only really the frame rate chasers that are going to notice - I'm certainly tempted to have a go

I've got all the drivers ready to go :) Gigabyte's support for XP64 seems to be quite good. I'm using quite an old mobo now to, a K8NPro.
