et wheel question & Knocklink

Hi all, just a couple of questions.

What is the wheel et on MY00 (V) ?

Plus, I have been running my car on 95 ron which is what the manual recommends. I have recently filled up on 97 ron super unleaded from Sainsburys. Do I need to fit a Knocklink?
The car is running fine if not better.

Cheers,

Phil.

If your car is a standard uk turbo, you don't need a knocklink. You will notice an improvement in running when you put in higher octane fuel. The debate goes on about optimax, but in my experience it did improve the running of my scooby, also a my99 turbo.
However, if your running a modified exhaust, top mount intercooler or any other major mods to the engine without a proper tek remap, then you do need one.
Sorry I can't help you with the correct offset for the wheels though, do a search in "wheels and tyres" :)

Phil, cw42's advice is good.

ET 53.

Prodrive wheels are ET53, but you can get away with an offset of ET48 (sticks out 5mm further than ET53)

Don't go as low as ET45 which some companies recommend, as they stick out too far. I had some on my MY99 UK car and they rubbed on the rear arch rubbers on heavy cornering when there is someone in the back.

Cheers. I'm after some 18"' so which would be the best et50 or et53? and with what size tyres?

Cheers,
Phil.

so even with just a full stainless steel system as the only mod it is advisable to get tek 3 remap? any idea how much this costs? i assume the remap would give even more horses, on top of the free-er flowing exhaust?
