Rev's increase when changing gear
Anyone have any ideas on this one :
When I floor the clutch to change gear I notice that the revs increace slightly. Almost like a little blip of the throttle - is this normal ? Car is a 2003 WRX |
yeah thats normal, i do it all the time. same model car too.
|
Similar MY here, similar phenomenon, more evident after PPP!
JIM |
I get that too - but in a classic!?
|
Take your foot off the accelerator ;)
|
Yes....its normal when u are used to other cars....
Because of the boost and dump valve actuation, u need to lift off the gas a little before hitting the clutch for changing gears. Try and you'll get used to...and find that sweet spot of time between lifting off (slightly) and clutching in |
I agree with nunosm on this one! I own a MY03 WRX and you will get it right i am sure :D
But it is bloody annoying when you dont isnt it? LOL. Makes you sound like a right n00b driver. |
Exactly. Have a 03 also, and when i forgot to do so...it revs like an granma car!!! eheheheh
|
same here on a my02 wrx...geee...these cars take some serious finese to drive them straight don't they....:D
|
Mine does it too... but I keep a bit of throttle on during the change anyway... seems to help prevent any serious lag.
