I am a Dad!!!

This is the best feeling in the world, holiding my little son in my arms :)

Wife complained of cramps at 8am this morning, took her in at 10am and baby was born at 1:13pm - she's the talk of the hospital!! :)

She was 9.5cm dilated when I took her in and went straight to the delivery suite. Some poror women have been in there all night and we were in and out :)

We've named him Spencer James and he weighed 6lbs 7oz and is a little diamond

Gutted when I had to leave the hospital though, can't go back until 6:30pm and that's only for an hour

So to the guys from the Northern section, once again I promised to turn up at the Micklehead Green meet and will have to pull out!!

Julian - I'll make it one day :)

It does - I'll openly admit I had tears rolling down my cheeks, mix of emotions with the joy of seeing my son born yet seeing my wife go through so much pain.

She was so brave and I'm tremendously proud of her :)

Fat Boy 04 May 2005 05:35 PM

Well done, now get some sleep

Drunken Bungle Whore 04 May 2005 05:38 PM

Congrats to you & the wife! :thumb: Shame you're not allowed to spend more time with them though..... :( How long before they'll be home?

mr & mrs carlos uk300 04 May 2005 05:38 PM

just remember when you go out to wet the babys head, don't come home blind drunk, drop ya contact lenses in a glass of water, wake up the next morning and drink them, like my hubby did:D

Brendan Hughes 04 May 2005 05:40 PM

you did say "blind" drunk?

Hanley - congrats:)

Hanley 04 May 2005 05:46 PM

Wife needed a few stitches and is expected to be home on Saturday

Thank you for all for your kind comments

I have got to say that I have never heard screams like it in my life, not just from Jo but from women in the other rooms, I can only imagine how painful it must be

Hats off to you girls who've been through this

:)

Lee247 04 May 2005 05:57 PM

Hi Yoza - remember me :luxhello:

Congrats mate. It really is quite unlike any feeling in the world, isn't it? Now you can do the big smile thing and say "it's the best" etc when anyone tells you they're about to have kids :D

Julz1983 04 May 2005 08:18 PM

Congratulations to you and your wife

My daughter is now 2 years old, my hubby didn't know where to put himself coz I was in so much pain but at the same time he was so happy, I had probs throughout the labour aswell, it took me 16 hours before she wanted to come in to the world!!! It was worth it in the end though.
