"Splutter" problem

Hello all. I have a bit of a problem with my 93 WRX import. It drives very nice till I try to "boot it" then I get to about 4 or 5 thousand revs and get like a splutter,, it feels a bit like fuel cut and it doesn't happen if I build up the rev's gently. My boost is set at around 15 psi (1 bar).
I've changed the boost pipes for Samco and this hasn't solved the problem. The car has a big bore cat back exhaust but still has the standard air filter, could this be an issue??
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing it??
Please help as I'm running out of ideas :-(
Thanks.
Phil.

spark plugs mate, get them cleaned or better replace them with ngkpfr7b's. i had the same problem.
other hand it could also be your coil packs. Try the sparks first mate see how you go.

tim :)

Also look at all vacuum pipes as I had the same thing and turned out to be a small vacuum pipe and under hard acceleration would give the same symptoms .
