Car sales canvassers!!!
Ive been trying to sell my missus Calibra, and ive been inundated with calls from people claiming that they have people in my area that want the car:rolleyes:
My question is,has anyone actually sold their car through these people or is it what i suspect to be just a load of people trying to fleece £50-100 out of us sellers!!!!! Gary |
You suspect right....

They just fleece you.....
I had an argument with one of them a while ago. She said she had someone waiting to buy the car, and was also happy with the price and condition (not that he had ever come to see it). She wanted £60. I said I do not believe you. Tell you what, I'll give you £250 and sign a contract to say that if he actually BUYS the car.......*click*...she hung up. Says it all...... |
They are a right P.I.T.A. and when I floged a car last year everybody's advice was steer clear. Popped to car in Autotrader and it was gone in two weeks :)

I had them ages ago when selling my Corrado. I was selling it at my parents place in the middle of the country, middle of nowhere etc.
Got the 6 buyers in 5 mile radius blurb. I said "REALLY, you sure", they said "yes, and for £70 etc.". I said, you are lying, in all probability there's not even 6 buyers in the village looking for ANY type of car, let alone a Corrado VR6. Silence then they hang up. These are a con. If in doubt, have them paid on receipt of sale and sale only. |
Similar story here with my last car. Constant calls from these people, all the promises in the world but no evidence that they could sell my car. Walk away. The market appears to be slow at the moment but it will sell if the price is right.
