New MP3 Player- Whats the deal??

I've just brought a new Sony HD-W3 Hard disc walkman (see MP3 ).

It basically does everything except make you coffee in the morning.......supposedly!!

Anyway, i'm experiencing a few problems tranferring tracks from the Sonicstage software on my PC to the player.
It seems to pick and choose which tracks it wants to download, some go 100% some are 0%. But its not consistent. I can have 2 or 3 attempts at the same track, the first two times it will refuse to download it and then on the 3rd occasion without doing anything differently it will suddenly download it!!??!
If i do succeed in downloading a previously refused track it has on two occasions corrupted the whole player and locked up all of the other tracks on there, resulting in me having to initialize its hard drive and wiping off two days worth of downloading!!!AARGH.

Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this erratic behaviour of the software/ player when im transferring tracks??

Gav.

Nowt wrong with the player.

My mate tested it on hid PC and no problems.

The problem appears to be an interference from my PC to the software/ player.

Just not sure what.

Sounds like a case of great hardware let down by poor software.

There's not a lot wrong with that software, it's the third generation and is now pretty foolproof.

Have you downloaded the patch for it from Sony? Can't remember where I found it, but it's for Windows XP, (as usual):(

Sony themselves are pretty good at solving your problems.

Just DON'T ask them to explain why their stuff is £300 in the UK and $300 in the USA, a saving, to the Americans, of about £120 on the same item:mad:
