Boost controller?
Can anyone answer these :
Car : UK MY97, Magnex zorst, induction kit. What sort of BHP would my car have as is and whats the boost pressure? Whats the Max boost pressure to run safely and what BHP would this give? Would fitting a boost controller make a noticeable difference? Whats the lowest boost pressure you can run (for economy reasons occasionaly!!) Cheers Simon |
Simon,
If you are running a UK car on a full decat at present your boost will be around 0.9bar that will give in the region of 240 bhp. If you fitted a boost controller and upped the boost to a safe 1.2 bar maximum and I repeat maximum then you will see around 280 bhp :norty: Also consider fitting a knoclink and AFR meter to keep an eye on things ;) AP |

Nothing is *definate* as even standard engines can go pop but mine has run (same spec) for 2 years problem free on 1.2 bar.
My advice would be to buy an electronic boost controller as they monitor boost much better and give you a safety threshold over manual ones, they are relatively easy to fit too ;) |
