Having driven both (own a WRX and used to borrow my mates 2000 regularly) there is in my opinion quite a difference. I found the 2000 to be slightly more tail happy (could have been tyre or suspension related). The WRX is more powerful. The WRX is geared more for acceleration as all Jap cars are restricted to 112mph (180kmh) so out on the open road the UK will cruise better and is probably more fuel efficient because of that. For everyday driving, i.e. legal speeds, the WRX car i feel is the better car to drive, to me it feels more alive and the extra acceleration is definitely noticeable.

Hope that helps.

Personally i would choose the MY00 over the MY95...as its alot newer, Looks better and cheap to insure...

...Plus you can always do mods to make the power up... :D
