Batch utility to convert Word files to RTF?

As above. Have a few thousand Word files that need to be converted to RTF so that they can be imported into some bespoke software.

Anyone know of a freebie utility I can try?

Can't see anything free outright but some "free to try" versions that may be your ticket.
