Liverpool Game

did any one see the Liverpool game, we out played them in the first 40mins and from then down hill, WHY take off BAROS.....

skoda_kid 05 April 2005 10:47 PM

liverpool looked really unfit in the second half. Excellent liverpool goals, and a good performance by scott carson in the first half.

Looking forward to next week!

Agree, Baros should have stayed on. But I think the plan was to play it safe and keep him fit for next the next leg.

We humilliated them in the first half and Carson played a blinder :) Shame we took the foot off the pedal for the whole second half and couldn't keep the pressure up.

Garcia's goal was just :notworthy

And Sami, welcome back !! :luxhello:

I think they will relish the game in Turin, Baros still has some making up to do for the Toffees game.

If we can take that same style of performance over to Turin we have a pretty good chance:) but if Mr Benitez sends the boys in with a defensive strategy, in the hope of protecting what we have, we don't stand a chance:(

Sami, it's great to have you back:):):) who needs strikers anyway:)

Luis Garcia:notworthy:notworthy

You've got to feel for Carson, one little mistake in an otherwise immense performance:( I hope he puts it behind him and learns from it.

Like Terry Venables said, Juve were out physicalled :lol1:

Yes they played well in the first half and both of the goals were good:thumb: :thumb: but the soft away goal that was scored by them might come back and bite you on the ASS!!!!!! in the second leg over there........:ponder2: :ponder2:

A naive Liverpool performance - They came out all guns blazing while Juve struggled early on to come to terms with the pace. As the second half panned out a great strike from el gringo put the half beyond a likely half time draw. That said the best moves in the first half were carved out by Juve - the Carson save capped a fantastic Juve move - quick one touch passing carving the 'has beens' in half. Juve also hit the post at the end of another superb move and also had a perfectly good goal disallowed...
In the second Liverpool were burnt out and it was Juve who were queueing up to shoot and the goal was only a matter of time away with Liverpools goalkeeper frailties being brought to light again. In the second half it was only the lacklustre performances of Ibrahimovic and Zambrotta which prevented a Juve comeback to take an away lead back to Turin.
As it is Juve must clearly be the experts favourites now - both teams were missing key players and players who werent match fit - both also had players embroiled in World Cup comeptitions and global travel leading up to last nights game but ultimately European class will shine through and another trophiless season on Merseyside be apparant in 7 days and 3 hours time.

A naive performance lol, they won 2-1. Did you copy and paste that? redissue?

redwrx 07 April 2005 09:07 AM

Liverpool win, and their opponents are praised for scoring an away goal..

Chelsea win, Bayern score '2' away goals - and Chelsea are favorites to win the competition - no one mentions the away goals.....Bayern only have to win 2- 0 and Chelsea are out.

What ever happens .....Liverpool 'BEAT' Juve... next week is a different match.

England were supposed to score 10 against Azer..!!!, because the Poles scored 8 ... and it never happened. So rather than putting a downer on Liverpools performance, lets think...'hang on, we're in the lead , if you want to win, you gonna have to score first.

Blatent cut and paste Abdabz, at least post you own comments  MUST be a jealous Utd supporter ;) :p

Juve are has-beens and we'll prove it in the next leg. Bring on Bayern ;) ;)
