ARP Head Studs or Standard Head Bolts at 400bhp+

Out of interest who is running what on these?

I run the ARP Head Studs on my 2.65 Litre and Head Bolts on my 2.2 Litre.

Once over the 400/400 barrier is it worth going to the ARP head studs for the best seal on the head or?

Just being nosy really.

Cheers.
Jon.

I ran std bolts on my 500 engine, std bolts on my 400 engine...

Not to say that they are any better or worse but that is what i used and will use again when i get another scoob.

I use ARP on the 2.3 with 500 and John Banks uses OE bolts on his 2.5 with high 400's with no issues.
So I suppose either will do the job :)

Jon

Which ones are referring to, oversized or standard. I was told you only need to use oversized if you planned >2 bar & or nitrous.

I run 1.85 bar on my 2 litre Sti5 using std bolts, depends on what you torque them up to.

Thanks guys :)

Was just purely out of interest thats all!

Bob, just reread your post there. Do you torque the head bolts down more than the recommended amount in the workshop manual or just the middle ones?

Thanks.
