HELP-am I being ripped off?
 

I would really appreciate some advice from subaru owners. At the moment I have put a deposit down on a brand new (05)UK spec sti import.
I have just been informed by the dealer that it will not have the DCCD option on it. I was led to believe by local subaru main dealers (uk) that all 05 type UK models had this option as standard?
Are they selling me an 04 model on an 05 plate?? If so will I have trouble when I come to sell it on , as second hand?
I know thats a lot of questions to put out there but I have wanted this car for a LONG time and I want to get it right!

You can get the 05 as an import with or without DCCD - there's about a grand difference. I looked into this before getting mine - decided to go for a year old UK model instead of a new import... It was hard enough trying to part exchange my old UK WRX for my UK STi - I can imagine how hard an import would be to shift...

To be 'UK Specification' is MUST have a DCCD; it it doesnt then it isnt. The simplist way out is to check your receipt, does it say that you have paid a deposit for a 'UK specification' car? You can still get out of this as they have lead you to believe that they will supply a 'UK specification' car which they plainly arent doing, making your contract void.

I just got mine 05 STi with Kenwood 6 disc changer, full tank and STi UK mats for £24,850

PM me if you require more info.. some people have had cheaper than that I think but not by to much. Current list price is £26,250. Dont bother with dealer GAP insurance either they wanted £450 for mine for 3 yrs. I got it online with www.surfandprotect.com for £198 (now £220 for the silver plan was 10% off for me at time) which covers me for 3 years back to invoice price and covers car up to £30k in value (max payout is 10k on the policy).

If I had the cash mate I would use drivethedeal.com... you can get a brand new 05 STI (UK car from UK dealer) for £24,597 (was £23,500 last month) This is with the £250 option of metallic paint (£1902 off list). What is also good is that if you buy before end of April you get 3yrs FREE servicing (worth ~ £700).
Now that is a bargain.

I would have one myself but my part ex price on my 04 was too low - probably down to this 'premotional period' so I will wait till after it is finished for a better trade in value.

Basically if you have the cash - be quick and buy a new one with the 3yr servicing.

If you dont have the cash get a loan ... some great loans out there at the moment.. mine was 5.9% APR with direct line. Once again watch for the dealer loans as they can work out expensive.

Try FTmymoney or FTyourmoney for some loan comparison tables for personal loans m8 if ya interested.
