Another engine oil pressure Q

Ive done a search and couldnt find a definitive answer...

Ive just installed a set of guages one being oil pressure. On idle at operating temp (90ish) what should the oil pressure be doing?

Mine never stays still, it seems to jump from anything as low as 35 to 45 to 60ish, but will return back up to say 95ish when i hit the loud pedal.

Is this right or am i looking at big end failiure/rebuild?

Sounds fine.. mine is in Bar rather than Psi but I get around 2bar to 2.5bar on hot idles.. it just around a little.. 2bar is about 27psi I believe.

Goes upto 6bar+ on the loud pedal.. so 90psi is about right.

I have just installed the oil pres and temp senders in my secs unit and on a hot idle im getting inbetween 2.5 and 3 bar and about 6 to 6.5 bar on the loud pedal. It can peak as much as 7 bar in the morning when the oil is cold.

This is on a MY99 uk Turbo with a few mods;) running Motul motorsport 300v 15w50.

Also running Motul.. peak on mine says 8.33bar which I presume was on cold oil..
I would expect my idle to be a little lower as she has done 160,000miles ;)

Phew thats good i was worried there for a bit. How come it fluctuates so much, other cars ive seen (admittedly not scoobs) are pretty much rock steady.

usually down to the frequency at which your gauge reads or they had a mechnical gauge which is slower to react.
