Disc's - how much life do they have

I am using 335mm discs, that i bought once with some Hi-Spec calipers (big mistake)

anyhow...looked at my discs, and i only have just over a 1mm of a grove left..does this mean they need replacing?

discs quite often have a cutout / scallop mark around the circumference so that when you break through at the apex of the scallop it's time to change them (but ideally change them before you break through...)

some discs have a minimum thickness stamped onto the circumference so it's a case of using a mirometer or caliper to measure the thickness and judging from that. If you knew what thickness they were originally then you could get a remaining life projection (albeit fairly roughly) knowing how much is left.

if you've only 1mm of a groove left (assuming you mean the contact surface grooves) then they're virtually shot anyway so I'd be looking round for some more - better safe than sorry...
