Took her a good few hours to wrap but she did a pretty goog job. These are Megan Headers and seem a quality bit of kit for the money. I was going to port them but the diameter and alignment were spot on allready. Fitting is a bit of a game though. Had to remove downpipe to get to two of the bolts on the turbo and undo engine mountings plus remove strut brace so I could jack up engine enough to get the uppipe through the gap between engine and body. This was due to it being a one piece header and uppipe. Have not drove it yet as I still have to refit the downpipe, but looking forward to see how it sounds and performs. ( roll on tomorrow ). andy |

She must be some sort of wrapping goddess mate....... she could get a job doing that!!! must have the patience of jobe....
Did you paint them or is it black wrap?
They are a quality bit of kit I have a set fitted to my bugeye from the looks on the pictures the exhaust wrap has been sprayed.
Yep your right gussy, White wrap sprayed with black exhaust paint to protect it a little.
Right, finished fitting this morning, been out playing all day. Performance wise its hard to say but feels a little more torque from about 2500rpm and mayby a little stronger once on song. Should feel the real benefit once i have finished all the other mods and had the Apexi fc remapped. The sound WOW, Totally different, more so than expected. Quieter overall but still plenty loud enough as i have full de-cat with Blitz mid & backbox. On tickover not much diffrence ( still has the scooby rumble ) but as the revs rise it gives off what can only be described as a RASP which progressively gets louder with increased rpm. Gives the illusion that it revs higher than before, but obviously not. Overall im pleased with them, Build quality, Fit, Sound and performance. Bargain for the money. Andy |
Andy, how close does your right bank (i.e. cylinders 2/4) run to the sump? Care to take a piccie? :)
Carl.
The pipes from 2 & 4 are actually just touching the sump ( Forgot about that ) However seems ok though, not vibrating or anything. Will try a take a pic for you tomorrow in the daylight. Andy |
Don't worry Andy, mine are the same. Touching the sump through the wrap.
I've noticed slightly lower oil pressure (higher oil temperature) since. Not enough to concern me too much at this stage though. |
may be a stupid question but will it make any difference if i wrap the pipes 2 at time rather than individually?
6 and half a dozen imo. Air's a better insulator than the wrap anyway, as long as it isn't moving. I wrapped individually for neatness although it would be a lot less time consuming doing 2 at a time.
