Finally Got The d.i.y Intercooler Waterspray fitted!

finally at long last i've hooked up my own ic waterspray, basically using a metal bar round the intercooler drillled with holes as the sprayer and the rear wash/wipe pump as the source works brill! what does everyone think seeing as it cost me nothing!!

Nice job, bet it works a treat. What did you use to make the metal spray bar? Daz

What size of hole did you use?

i found the bar in my garage sounds too good i know, but when i was lookin, B&Q did some copper pipe you could buy, which would have been perfect if i hadnt found this, the hole size was about 0.5mm that size...
i do need a better pump thou beacause my standard washer one isnt that powerful any ideas??

Less holes in the bar would create a bit more pressure. Would still wet it through sufficiently I would imagine. I noticed a difference when using mine (on boost) have you? Mine seems to gain a couple of hundred revs with each press of the button. Daz

The screen wash bottle is located in the engine bay right? so are you not spraying ambient temperature water onto your i/c?

Fair play for having a go :) but if you've now disabled your ability to clean your windscreen whilst on the move it's a bit dangerous and possibly an MOT failure?

Rusty, read the post again........He's used the REAR wash wipe pump as the source so im assuming he's also used the rear water bottle as the source for the water.

P.S...Cracking idea mate...might give this a go myself.

Yeh I used the pump 4 the rear wash wipe, which i never use anyway. On wet days the system can be disabled and rear wash wipe connected back up in seconds if the cause needs.

Main reason I created one myself was because the actual proper ones are so expensive.

Give it a go. Pretty easy and does make a difference.
