Speed Camera

I have just been flashed by a camera but on the other side of the road. can i get done for that? i was speeding but on the other side.

If it was flashing at you then it has judged your speed and acted accordingly.

You should, by law recieve a N.I.P within 14 days, if not your off the hook.

If it was flashing at you, have it done for exposing himself

If it was a square lensed Gatso and on the other side of the road then your ok. I've been setting em off for fun for past 12 months.

If though it is a foward facing with twin round lenses on top of each other you should be recieving 3 points

F**kin speed cameras = money makers
been proved they don't save live like they been advertised to !?!?:nono:

Same thing happened to me on the A68 in Scotland, not had anything through now and that was over 3 weeks ago :) .
Were there any markings on your side of the road as these are what are used to calculate the precise speed (yeah right) 2 shots, average speed between the 2 points. Although truvelos are a different kettle of fish.

If there weren't I wouldn't worry too much as it does make it a tad difficult to specify exactly what speed you were doing at the time.

Of course there will always be some scare mongering knowitall who will go in to great depths as to how you are fcuked.

BTW I was in the evo so the front number plate is a little further over than you scooby drivers :norty:

Think it was a normal speed camera with lines on the other side of the road not my side. I was doing about 40 in a 30 so yes i was wrong. The lense was square . It must have flashed at me as I was the only car going through that road at the time and the bas***d nearly blinded me.

Lum 16 March 2005 06:42 PM

Square lens + white blinding flash + lots of lines on the road = gatso
Round lends + magenta or invisible flash + only 3 lines very close together = truvelo

Gatso is only certified for measuring the speed of a vehicle travelling away from it so you're safe. If they do try anything you can confidently go to court and point out that the device was being used in violation of it's Home Office Type Approval (number: 0-11-341068-9)

Truvelo is for vehicles heading towards it.
